RTT took part in the spirit of fund raising for CHOC again and this year we kept it fun and simple. Our journey began on 7th September and ended on 20th November at the 94.7 Cycle Challenge where our RTT Cows proudly cycled.
Our fund raising initiatives included: a copper coin collection 'Put your 2 cents in and Make it Count' campaign. Official CHOC merchandise was sold at the Medical Golf Day with cow print socks, shirts, bags and bangles. The main inter-departmental drive was the raffle, the first prize: a 32GB iPad2, second prize: a Canon camera and the third prize a Nokia E72 cell phone. The raffle ran for only 12 days and raised R10, 000.
The fund raising initiatives by Solutions started off with a very successful evening at the Barnyard Theatre- 'Rocking all over the World Show'. Eager and eligible staff members paid to take part in an 'Elephant Weight Loss Challenge' to see who could lose the most amount of weight. Food was on sale on Fridays and the canteen 'Feedem Pitseng' donated R10, 000. Client donations were welcomed as well as RTT Medical donating funds on behalf of their clients to CHOC as a Christmas present to those in need.
Ten RTT staff members from IT, Security, Sales and HR rode in the 94.7 Cycle Challenge this year and raised R70 000. They were supported by the official RTT CHOC water station en route the race. It was a vibrant and excitement filled day with many encouraging cheers for the 'Cow Platoon' of 300 cyclists. RTT also arranged the transportation of the corporate ice cream bicycles; we were honoured at the official CHOC awards evening with another framed Cow picture that now hangs in the museum as we placed second in the corporate category. |
