RTT JUMPS TO LEVEL 3
VALUE ADDING ENTERPRISE

The RTT Group, Africa's leading supply chain services provider, has achieved the sought after Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) status of a Level 3 Value Adding Enterprise, in terms of South Africa's BBBEE Codes of Good Practice.

Confirmed by accredited verification agency Veri-Com in January 2012, this upgraded BEE rating affords RTT customers 137.5% recognition for their procurement with RTT.

Says CEO Iain Barton, CEO of RTT Health Sciences, 'We are delighted to have achieved this new rating; it considerably strengthens our offering to our customers and consolidates procurement as the space in which we play.' He continues, 'We have been working very hard at our BBBEE compliance and the improvement reflects the dedication of the teams involved, no less than our commitment to providing maximum value for our clients.'

When procuring from a Level 3 company, customers may claim 110% of their spend to gain points on their BBBEE scorecard. Value-adding enterprises allow for an additional 125% of value added on to the recognition of spend. Thus the total recognition for procuring from RTT amounts to 137.5% of the total spend. This means that for every R100 that is spent at RTT, the customer may claim a spend of R137.50 for preferential procurement.

'In effect,' says Barton, 'receiving a 137.5% recognition of your preferential procurement amount with RTT may be more advantageous than procuring your services from a Level 1 enterprise.

RTT achieved a maximum score in Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development and improved their score for preferential procurement and now enjoys a total score of 75.39 BEE points. 'This reflects our drive to build capacity in the local communities in which we operate,' said Barton.
