On Saturday 28 January RTT and the Bainies of the Johannesburg office offered hands to help 'green' Unjani Clinic. A team of 15 passionate and energetic people gave up their Saturday to help at Unjani Clinic
in Etwatwa (near Daveyton, Johannesburg). The teams brought with them gloves, spades, picks, black bags and recycling containers.
The volunteers helped wash the container unit of all dust until it looked like new. They picked up litter in and around the clinic area and de-clogged gutters and ditches to prevent flooding around the Unjani
Clinic unit. Four indigenous trees were planted at the clinic (despite the incredibly tough soil!). In a few years's time these trees will not only improve the aesthetics of the community centre but also offer shade for the patients.
This is a true demonstration of how through corporate partnering we can contribute to the betterment of local society. Sustainability and integrated CSR is about collaboration and RTT is excited to engage
and share our projects with corporates such as Bain. The organisation of this community volunteer day has not only benefited the Unjani clinic and the patients it serves but the wider community.
A big thank you goes to all the people who were involved in the 'greening'!
