Mike Harrigan, RTT’s Quality Assurance Manager was invited to Arlington, Virginia in the USA to conduct a two week ISO 9001:2008 assessment of the PFSCM facility to determine what gaps were evident in their present management system as compared to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.

PFSCM (Partnership for Supply Chain Management) is a registered company within the USA. It has been in operation since 2005 and forms an integral part of the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) project.

PFSCM currently manages two large projects that strive to reduce the worldwide impact of HIV and AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis;

Supply Chain Management System (SCMS)

Global Fund – Voluntary Pooled Procurement (VPP)

An executive decision was taken to determine the process of possible ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) implementation within the organization and to determine the current state of the Quality Management System and the associated processes.

A Scope of Work was issued to seek intervention from a specialist quality person to conduct a gap analysis, evaluate the current systems and processes and to make recommendations to determine the extent of the project in respect to time, cost and effort required to achieve a readiness state (pre-audit compliance).

Mike presented to the executive on his findings and awaits feedback and response on his recommendations.
