RTT MEDICAL - OVERVIEW

RTT Medical is South Africa's premier pharmaceutical supply chain company. As part of RTT Health Sciences, a leader in pharmaceutical logistics throughout Africa, we specialise in multi-channel solutions for delivering essential medicines and consumer health products nationwide. At our state-of-the-art warehousing facility in Centurion, now under the management of new Chief Executive, Deon Vos, we have addressed recent technology growing pains and have entered 2012 in a strengthened position, operating at world class standards and fulfilling our promise of delivering business success.

HISTORY
RTT Medical was originally named PHD, established in 2000 by RTT, South Africa's leading supply chain services group, to provide an independent multi-channel service for pharmaceutical producers to reach their customers. In 2005, RTT constructed a dedicated pharmaceutical warehouse facility in Centurion. By 2010, to meet growing demand, the facility was expanded to more than double its original capacity and in 2011 it was rebranded as RTT Medical.

WHAT WE DO
RTT Medical provides a direct conduit from the producer to the customer. We distribute scheduled pharmaceuticals on behalf of pharmaceutical manufacturers to dispensing pharmacies and medical depots for hospitals, clinics, doctors, wholesalers and retailers, across the spectrum of private, state and donor-funded markets.

We partner with manufacturers, affording them best practice control of their supply chains, with optimum cost and pricing management and maximum efficiencies, ultimately ensuring that their products reach the shelves of their customers, at the right time and at the best price.

Our full service customised offerings to our clients include warehousing, stock management, pricing management, movement of goods, handling customer queries and complaints, order processing, billing, debtor control, track and trace control, handling of returns and disposal of obsolete stock.

OUR MARKET REACH
On behalf of more than 30 local and international pharmaceutical manufacturers, RTT Medical serves the South African market, reaching 8,000 delivery points every day.

OUR CAPACITY
RTT Medical's 26,500m2 of warehouse space in Centurion is complemented by facilities in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban. All our facilities are ISO 9001:2008 accredited and fully compliant with international GMP and local MCC, DOH and PSSA standards.

We implement state-of-the-art security measures, such as reinforced structures, 24-hr manned CCTV, transport control, hijack response vehicles and armed guards and escorts.

RTT Medical's Cold Chain management is world class. We have designed market leading solutions for temperature sensitive (2-8 degrees Celsius) and ambient (9-25 degrees Celsius) environments. We validate our transport environments and route profiles and conduct road tests for summer and winter configurations.

In January 2012 we introduced a cost effective, improved and patented packaging system, the RTT Box and its eutectics, which provides a compliant route 2-8 degrees Celsius environment.

We pick, pack and dispatch 11 million units (220,000 cartons), every month, all within a high security environment and supported by the internationally benchmarked SAP operating system.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Over the past two years RTT Medical has invested more than R2.4 million in cold chain research and development to improve our QMS, to maximize our control, verification and review processes, and to minimize critical risk.

RTT Medical is the founder member of South Africa's Cold Chain Forum, established in 2010 with the aim of sharing knowledge, driving continuous improvements, bringing our services on a par with first world practices and bringing new knowledge to the international industry.
