RTT Cares
RTT remains committed to its role as a responsible corporate citizen towards its stakeholders and the communities within which it operates. Over the years we have contributed significantly to initiatives that benefit disadvantaged communities and that tie in with our corporate philosophy.
RTT Sweetwater Home
RTT has established and continues to fund the SweetWater Home project, providing a safe haven for orphans from previous disadvantage communities and preparing them through education and care, to become leaders of the future. The foster home offers a home life for six young boys, who have become a family unit amongst themselves and are provided with stable, consistent and long term nurturing care. Ultimately the intention is to provide the boys with the opportunity for schooling and further studies as well as possible employment within the RTT Group.
The RTT Precious Cargo Educare Centre was created with a view to providing an on-site and convenient facility to care for and educate the children of RTT employees who work at the Boksburg Office Park. With two qualified pre-school teachers, 4 experienced child minders and a full time cleaner the Centre is professionally staffed and can accommodate up to 50 children ranging in age from two months to six years old in a stimulating safe indoor and outdoor environment.
The Educare curriculum meets the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of each individual child. The curriculum also includes a Grade R programme to prepare children who are going into Grade one. The children of Educare receive a nutritional breakfast, lunch, and a morning and afternoon snack prepared by the RTT in-house canteen.
