RTT On-Demand solution receives BCX Digital Innovation Award 2021
With consumers’ need for fast and efficient home deliveries, the On-demand marketplace has exploded over the last few years. The demand was even higher during the Covid-19 pandemic when contactless deliveries were essential and an On-Demand solution offering became the bleeding edge. RTT realised that enabling technologies and delivery solutions in the market provided the potential to significantly enable clients and consumers to receive goods instantaneously and with absolute convenience.
Using technology, along with the variety of services and the networks that form part of the RTT Group’s service offering, the RTT On-Demand Solution was created in response to this need in the market. This purpose-built innovation offers our clients a unique solution to reach their customers with the best possible digital experience while being served with a world-class delivery experience.
The RTT On-Demand solution won the BCX Digital Innovation Awards 2021. Launched in 2019, this award recognises digital innovation excellence in large, medium, and small enterprises across South Africa. The RTT On-Demand solution was shortlisted for its remarkable results, improving and meeting the key performance areas of our clients, and making a difference within South Africa by improving the day-to-day lives of South Africans and creating more than 2000 jobs. The innovation process is a dynamic one and RTT is able to consistently respond, design a sustainable Research & Development function, and focus on promising innovations.
This is evident in our partnership with Shoprite Checkers where RTT fulfils all deliveries on behalf of the successful Sixty60 consumer application. The enablement solution was initially developed as part of an ecosystem of solutions providing the consumer with the ability to place an order via an app, have the order fulfilled and delivered within sixty minutes or at a specified date and time.
The RTT On-Demand solution is designed to bring the content and product owner closer to their customer. This solution is a capable and effective last-mile delivery service, where time is of the essence to our clients and their customer. The delivery network enables our client with web service integration into various delivery options (motorbikes or light delivery vehicles) and back-office customer support service.
Our software and platforms allow our clients’ customers to receive real-time status updates, live track and trace, and in-app communication to the driver which is fundamental to the customer journey and experience.
RTT On-Demand successfully completed its six millionth delivery recently, with an average delivery lead-time of only 18 minutes. RTT’s market-leading On-Demand delivery network continues to scale up and now operates nationally with 2200 riders across 140 locations.
